The Google Sandbox is often referred to as 3-6 month waiting period your new domain has to endure before experience any significant ranking improvement. Ever since Google started ‘penalizing’ new domains, webmasters have had an increasingly more difficult time ranking brand new domains.
Of course, one of the solutions is to get an already aged domain with a good backlink profile and a decent history. But what if you want a brand new domain? You might be building a new brand, naming a site after somebody or something, or jumping onto a new trend. Whatever the case is, sometimes you just have to start from scratch.
So what can you do to be stuck in Goolge’s Sandbox less and spend more time at the top?
I have put together the only 4 step system that you need to implement to get out of the deep blue sea. Read on, my friends.
Step 1: Social Media
This is usually where everyone starts nowadays. It’s free and its simple to implement. If you are pressed on time, I recommend starting out with the biggest 3 networks in your niche. Start with Facebook and Twitter, no matter what your niche is. The third social network will depend on your niche. For example, if you are in the beauty or fashion niche, choose Pinterest or Instagram (keep an eye out for Polyvore). If you are in the business niche, definitely consider LinkedIn. If you are doing something along the lines of education or instructional, utilize YouTube to bring a strong brand or personality around you and your company.
After you have chosen your 3, set up a free account with Hootsuite (or a similar site). If you can afford the monthly plan, I would go ahead and purchase it. It will allow you to manage more than 3 networks without taking up any more additional time.
Now take the next 4-5 hours and make some really good, captivating posts. I would aim for 2 a day for the next 30 days. It is important to not spam your feed with offers only. Nobody will engage with your posts. Try to include articles, tips, and guides. Ask you followers a question, or host a Q&A. Write a “Quote of the Week” or promote a giveaway in exchange for people sharing the post with their friends.

Be sure to promote a couple of these posts, or at least your page, in order to get some good engagement.
Step 2: Press Release
This is the simplest step because it mostly requires you to write a Press Release (or pay somebody to do it) and then hire a Press Release distribution service. Of course, you can always try to submit the Press Releases yourself but it will take up a lot of your time and still won’t be as effective as some services out there.

Step 3: Link Building
With a new website, the biggest mistake webmasters use is building too many, low quality links to their website too fast.
There is nothing worse you can do for your website than build more than 500 low quality links in your first month. Excluding you the links you get with a press release, I would recommend to not build any more than 100 links in the first month.
Remember that in today’s SEO landscape, quantity does not matter as much as quality.
You want to make sure that all the links you are building in your first month are as relevant to your website as possible. Try to reach out to bloggers in your niche and write a guest post.
Doing SEO by yourself can be really hard, especially when you are trying to acquire quality links.

Step 4: Content
You might have heard someone saying, “Content is King.”
But have you ever thought about why this is true?

Content is the king because it is the key to so many elements of SEO.
Content helps ensure that users spend more time on your site. Content is the key to getting rankings on long tail keywords. Content is the start of contextual link building. Content allows you to educate your audience so you can turn an unsure prospect into a confident buyer.
There is so many things that having a lot of quality content will allow you to do that I can’t probably even list it all if I tried. The important thing is your content is also the key to utilizing the above 3 steps, over and over again.
For example, you wrote a brand new article on some fashion tips? Why not create an info-graphic and post in on Pinterest with a link pointing to your article.
Did you compile a brand new case study on turtles? Why not write a press release and get your study noticed and possibly syndicated.
Take advantage of the opportunity articles give you to build deep links to your site and rank those long tail keywords. They might not seem powerful, but having a lot of them can lead to tremendous traffic.
